Process for Considering an External IRB in chart format

Process for Considering an External IRB

  1. U of U PI contacts the UU IRB to discuss ceding review to another IRB (U of U Study Team)
  2. PI submits Reliance Consultation Request form online (U of U Study Team)
  3. PI Prepares new Study Application in ERICA (U of U Study Team)
  4. PI submits New Study Application in ERICA (U of U Study Team)
  5. Application UU ancillary committee reviews and fee schedule initiated (UUIRB Review Staff)
  6. After RA is complete, application is assigned to IRB pre-reviewer (UUIRB Review Staff)
  7. New Study Application is reviewed per standard UU IRB process (UUIRB Review Staff)
  8. UU IRB provides Local Context Letter to SIRB (UUIRB Review Staff)
  9. SIRB completes review; sends final documents to UU Study Team (SIRB Staff)
  10. UU Study Team attached SIRB-approved documents and final SIRB approval letter (U of U Study team)
  11. Final processing is completed and ERICA Site Activation letter(s) is sent to UU PI (UUIRB Review Staff)

or

  1. U of U PI contacts the UU IRB to discuss ceding review to another IRB (U of U Study Team)
  2. PI submits Reliance Consultation Request form online (U of U Study Team)
  3. Consultation is scheduled, and cede request is approved (UUIRB Reliance Agreement Staff)
  4. Reliance Agreement is Processed (UUIRB Reliance Agreement Staff)
  5. Reliance Agreement is sent to SIRB's institutional official for signature (SIRB Staff)
  6. Reliance Agreement is signed by UU and completed (UUIRB Reliance Agreement Staff)
