Effective July 1, 2026, the IRB will be increasing fees for new industry-sponsored studies. The updated fee schedule will affect new study, amendment, continuing review, and final project report applications submitted on or after that date. For all industry-sponsored studies initially submitted before July 1, 2026, we will invoice based on the previously-assigned fee schedules for the remainder of the studies’ activities.

Single IRB fees for projects where the University of Utah IRB provides review services for multiple sites will also increase for all fee quotes issued on or after July 1, 2026. SIRB fee quotes are valid for one year; if a study is not submitted to the IRB before the quote expires, a new fee quote will be issued and may reflect an increase in fees per the current SIRB fee schedule.

Updated industry fee schedules will be posted on the IRB’s website after July 1, 2026.
