The following University of Utah Institutional Review Board SOPs were reviewed as part of a scheduled sunset review procedure. As a reminder, all IRB SOPs are also being updated as part of a harmonization project to improve ease of reading and understanding. Please take a moment to review these SOPs as a refresher and part of ongoing training.

SOP 105	Implementation of the Final Rule: Added additional details regarding exceptions to following the Common Rule including a new sub-section regarding the certification of prisoner research. These changes are not new information, just additional explanation. Added purpose, scope, and definitions sections.
SOP 302	Administrative Review and Distribution of Materials: Updated IRB staff titles, clarification of assignment of secondary reviewers for minimal risk studies reviewed by the convened board, and added clarification of when expedited reviewers are assigned. Added scope and purpose sections.
