Our Mission

The IRB is responsible for reviewing and overseeing human subject research.  The IRB review process is designed to protect the rights and welfare of human subjects by ensuring equitable subject selection, assuring adequate informed consent, assessing and minimizing risks, and maintaining privacy and confidentiality.

The IRB prides itself on serving the University's research community by applying the highest standards of intellectual integrity and careful attention to federal research regulations.  We continually strive to provide investigators and study teams the support and resources they need to conduct high quality research and foster excellent research practices that protect participants.
