Office Hours
The University of Utah IRB will host office hours every Thursday from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM MT. Office hours are on a first-come, first-served basis, and is a space for students, faculty, and staff to ask questions about human subjects research at the University of Utah.
Office hours meetings last for 15 minutes; please prepare for your brief meeting and bring specific questions. Office Hours staff can accept the following questions/topics for discussion:
- Processes: Overall IRB process, application process, timelines, etc.
- Requirements: Supplemental application documents, what is needed to satisfy the answers to specific questions within the application
- Procedures: Recruitment, consent, etc.
After 15 minutes, office hours staff will wrap up the call and help you make a plan to follow-up if needed.
Please note: The IRB staff will NOT review your IRB application or documents during office hours. If you have specific questions related to revisions letters, please follow up with the IRB staff member listed in your letter. Additionally, it is not the responsibility of the IRB staff to discuss scientific study design elements such as method, design, topic, population, sample, data collection, etc.
