ERICA Updates

Effective Sunday, October 26, 2015, the ERICA system has been updated. Please find a summary of the changes below. For questions regarding these changes, contact the IRB at 801-581-3655 or irb@hsc.utah.edu. 

• A new page for Genetic Research has been added to the IRB New Study Application.  The Genetic Research page must be completed for studies that perform genetic testing and/or analysis of genetic data. This new page will be required for all new studies and for applicable studies at continuing review.  To review the IRB guidance on Genetic Research, please view IGS - Genetic Research H2215.

• Additional text has been added to the Amendment Application, which clarifies that Primary Children’s Hospital (PCH) does not need to review changes to consent/parental permission/assent forms used at their location. When selecting the study locations affected by the changes proposed in an amendment, do not select “Primary Children’s Hospital” if the amendment only affects the PCH consent form.  PCH should be selected for any other changes affecting their location.
